Bad Karma

Just as I thought the cloud had lifted.  Unfucking believable.  I just don't get it.

Our central air broke.  Thank goodness for the whole house fan, or I don't know what we would do.  That works fine for sleeping, but wicked hot during the day.  So we spent some time in the pool yesterday to cool off.  My SIL's boyfriend seems to think that the compressor died.  That would cost a shitload of money that we just don't have.  This sucks.

Then yesterday I go to do the wash, and check on it an hour later, the basement is flooded three inches.  The washer just didn't stop running.  Filled up the washer AND the basement.  Amazing.  So Hubz cleans it all up and puts the fan on to dry it up.

This morning I go to get into the shower and there is no hot water.  Apparently the fan blew the pilot out, so I have dirty pool hair at work today.  The rest of me is clean.

I just don't get it.  What the hell did we do to get all of this bad karma.

I am really, really bummed.

As I Wait For The Coffee To Brew...

...I figured I would write a bit and give you an update.

The pool is full.  Off a little, about 4 inches, but that's okay.  The kids and Hubz had a great time playing in it last night splashing around.  I may go in today.  We shall see.

The kids went to a family party in Jersey yesterday, so Hubz and I went to see Get Smart.  It was pretty good, not one I'd watch again, but I just LOVE Steve Carrell.  He is just awesome.  I was happy we could go on a date.

Our air conditioning died yesterday morning.  So so hot in here.  Thank goodness we have the whole house fan, because that at least made it comfortable for sleeping.  Ugh.  Hopefully today it will get fixed.

Well today is officially one week til vacation.  I need a vacation so badly.   We are going to Wildwood for the week.  I can't wait.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Pool Update and Other Crap

Well the pool is as level as it's going to get this year.  It's about 2 inches off, no big deal.  Much better than a foot off.  So we left the hose on overnight and it is only half full, so tonight we will leave it on again.  It is a rockin pool!

My house is a mess.  We have been outside working all week, so tomorrow it's time for the inside.  It looks like a bomb went off.  I hate living like that.  So Maddy and I will be busy bees tomorrow.

Otherwise everything is good.  The Jeep rocks, and I just love it.  Vacation is in a week, and I can't wait.

Maddy is liking summer school.

Ben is just crazy Ben.

Hubz went to the doctor yesterday and he has to have the boot on his foot for a couple more weeks, but it is healing nicely.

And that is that.

Oh The Joys Of Pool Ownership

Well we finally got the pool.  So excited to set it up.  So on Friday, I figured I would try to tackle it myself while Hubz was at work.

So I got it about half way done, and I just couldn't do anymore.  I am just not strong enough.  So when Hubz got home, he finished it.  It looks awesome, and LEVEL.

On Saturday, we decide to start to fill it up.  It starts filling, and we see that it isn't level.  We have a shallow end and a deep end.  I THOUGHT I turned off the hose, but no, apparently I turned it UP, and the hose was on all night.  So in the morning, the pool was full.

I got a little worried that the pool may tip over.  The sides were buckling, and the poles were a smidge tilted.  Hubz said nah, it will be fine.  So we let the kids play in it yesterday.  By the end of the day, the poles were even MORE tilted.  We decided to flood the yard and our neighbor's yard, and empty it.  This morning it just has a little water on the bottom.

So now we have to till up that part of the yard to make things level.  When we did that with our old pool, I was a little upset, but not this time.  I want that pool to be even, fun, and most of all SAFE.  So the fun begins...tonight.  Depending on the weather.

Fun and more fun.

Our water bill should be quite a joy next month!

Not Pregnant...Again

Oh well, Aunt Flo came yesterday, so I'm not pregnant, yet again.  It's okay though.  I figured it this way.  If I am, great.  If I'm not then I can drink on vacation next month...tee hee.  So all is good.

I called about my Pap test today, and everything came back A Okay!!  Hooray!  I was so worried about it!  I am so glad.  Another thing off my mind.

A New Car

Well it's not really a car.  It's an SUV.  I am a SUV virgin.  This is my first one!

I am in love.  It's a 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade.  35,000 miles on it.  Perfect inside and out, and not a ding or scratch on it.  It is beautiful, and ROOMY, which is what we wanted.  Hubz loves it.  The kids love it.  I am in Heaven.

Carfax was clean.   Apparently it was a leased vehicle before we got it.  It is so strange to drive, because I am up so high.  I am used to being quite low and feeling every single bump in the road.  The steering is nice and OH MAN...I can't wait for the work day to be over so I can drive it again!!

So just for you, here is a picture.  We call it the Punk Mobile.  It is sweet.  WOO HOO!

Dealing Sucks

Well we went to the car dealer and were there TWO HOURS before they figured everything out.  Luckily the kids brought stuff to do, so they were absolute angels.

They were only going to give us $4,000.00 for the Saab.  $4,000.00!  ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?  Kelley Blue Book says $7,400.00 for a trade in!!  And I told him that!!  I paid $15,000.00 for it a little over a year ago!  I don't think so, so out we went.

Not sure what to do now.  We could always sell it out on the street and probably get $10,000.00 for it.  I have to see what Hubz has up his sleeve.

Ugh.

First Friday

Today is the first Friday with the kids off for the summer.  I am so glad.  Fridays I usually just tidy a bit and sleep, well not today, and not again for a long time!

Today we have to go to the bank (because Hubz direct deposit into our now joint bank account hasn't gone through yet), and off to the Nik Nak shop for some Webkinz.  Maddy got two awards at school this year, so she deserves it.  And of course I have to get one for Ben too, even though he says he doesn't want one.  Yeah we shall see when we get there!

We are going to water the flowers, bake a cake, clean Maddy's room, do some laundry, and maybe I will be able to fit a nap in there somewhere.

Well tomorrow is the big day with the car.  I really hope it all works out.

I am glad it's the weekend, because this week at work I was alone in the office because my co-worker buddy and his wife had their baby on Monday.  I had to play supervisor all week, and it kind of sucked.  Ugh.

I will keep you posted on the car situation over the weekend.

A Different Car?

The other week when our beater car broke down at Hubz work, we had to go out and pick him up.  So we went in the Saab, I drove, and the poor guy was squished over there in the passenger seat.  That is when it hit me.

This damn car is just too small for our family.  I mean hey, it's fine for just me and the kids, but not for all of us.  And with the wanting to have a baby in the future, there is no way this car will work for us.

So I am interested in a Hyundai Santa Fe.  It has three belts in the back and very roomy.  I like the look of it.  Hubz and I were talking about trading it in during the fall months, but someone said to me that NOW it's convertible season, and NOW is the time to trade it in.

What really sucks is that I will be taking a big loss on this deal.  I mean, according to Kelley Blue Book, the trade in will just pay off my loan.  Eh whatever.  It is what it is.

So wish us luck, because on Saturday, we are going to the dealer and we will see what we can do.

I am nervous and excited!

Random

Well today is my last day off of my 4 days.  Yes, I took off for my doctor's appointment, just in case there was bad news and I wouldn't be able to control my crying.  But nothing but good news, WOO HOO!

It has been so HOT in my neck of the woods.  We are patiently waiting for THIS

Pool

We won't be able to fill it up all the way, or it would be over Ben's head, but that's okay.  We are just so excited for it.  Thank you Uncle Sam.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.
