November 2007

OH Friday

Haven't I told you that I love having Fridays off from work.  OH I did, didn't I?  Tee hee.

I have a busy day ahead of me today.  But a fun day.  I am going to drop the kids off at school, come home, do a little puttering around here, then go spend the day with my mom.

Then tonight my MIL and SIL are going to take the kids to the Picture People to go and get the kid's pictures taken for Christmas.  I can't wait.  I will post them when I get them.  Then they are going for a sleepover and baking cookies together tomorrow.

Tonight Hubz and I have a date.  We are going out to dinner then grocery shopping.  We were going to do dinner and porn, but aunt flo is here, so that is out LOL!  I know, grocery shopping doesn't sound like a fun date, but we have a good time.  And we can never go without the kids, so it's good.

Tomorrow Sammy is getting a haircut.  Man does he need it.  He is just getting too fuzzy.

Then on Sunday we have a birthday party to go to.  So an interesting weekend ahead.

Hope you have a good one!

Sadness All Around

There is sadness all around me.  People I know, or people I am very close to have had deaths in their families.

One of the students at my school has a 5 month old niece that died of acid reflux difficulties.  I just want to cry for that mother.  I can't even imagine what she must feel like.

My very good friend's mom just died yesterday.  She was sick for only two weeks, and died just like that.  I am so sad for her and her family.

I hate hearing about all of this sadness.  I hate to cry in front of people, and here is a funeral that I absolutely have to go to.  I hate funerals with a passion.  I feel so weak being there.

News Reports

Every once in a while at school MJ has a news report to do.  Either national, world, or sports.  And every time she tells me, we both forget.  Ugh.

This morning she tells me as soon as we are about to walk out the door, "OH NO...my news report!"  So I run upstairs to her computer to use the only working printer in the house, and it DOESN'T WORK.  Dammit.  So here we go again, no news report.

I told her to tell her teacher that our printer was broken and that is why she didn't have it.  It's true, we aren't lying.  But we did forget, once again.

She told me that because she doesn't have her news report, her punishment usually is that she has to write one out of her Weekly Reader and misses recess.  I think that is kind of harsh, but she said that is the deal.  Poor kid.  Bad Mommy.

Hopefully next time she has a news report, we both won't forget.  Where are our minds going?  Sheesh.

The Lowdown

It looks like I am writing on my 20 to Goal blog more than this one...tee hee.  Why?  Because that is what is going on in my life.  As boring as it may be.

What is cooking?  Not much.  Everyone is good.  Hubz is fitting in so well with his new job.  He and his boss get along fabulously.  I am so glad.  He is having a great time there and just loves it.  And he looks so handsome when he leaves for work!  I am used to him leaving in sweats, so this is a nice change.

Benny is now playing with Barbies.  Yes.  And of course he loves the one that the dog chewed the arms off.  Last night he had her in the sink washing her hair.  What a nutball.  He isn't getting any for Christmas, I can tell you that.  He likes to play with the Austin Powers action figure that we have too.  It's funny.

Maddy is doing well.  She keeps telling me that she likes playing the flute but she never practices.  We had this trouble a few years ago when she took piano.  I am concerned.  Any ideas on what I can do to motivate her?

Me?  What about me?  Nothing much going on.  I must say I enjoyed my time off for the Thanksgiving holiday last week.  I could have used just one more day.  Did I tell you about the month of December?  We have a lot going on.   First weekend we have a birthday party to go to.  The next weekend we are going to the Reading Terminal Market and Macy's to see the light show.  The next weekend the kids will stay overnight at MIL's and Hubz and I will do our 'all in one day' Christmas shopping, then the next weekend is the neighborhood Christmas party, which is always a good time.  I am so excited for this month.  OH ...and we will be cutting down our tree at Linvilla Orchards one of those weekends too.  Sigh.

So that is the update and the lowdown on what is happening.  Just random stuff.  I don't have one particular thing to blog about, BUT once December hits look for lots of blogging and hopefully lots of pictures.

Quiet Sunday

It's a nice and quiet Sunday around here.  I think we are going to Christmas decorate today.  Kids have been playing on their computers, Hubz went out and did a little grocery shopping.  I may bake a little.  Who knows.

I can't believe tomorrow is Monday and back to work.  This 5 day little vacation came and went too soon.  I did enjoy it though.  Not too busy.  Every other weekend in December is busy busy busy.  But that is what the Holiday season is all about isn't it.

I had MJ give me her Christmas wish list.  Sheesh just about everything is on ebay.  Plush Pokemon and Powerpuff Girls stuff.  Ben...he is easy.  Anything Play-Doh or Spongebob is fine with him.  He really isn't into video games just yet, only playing games on the computer.  He is so funny.

Hubz said he may get me a camcorder for Christmas.  I don't know if I want that or another piece of Tiffany jewelry.  It's hard to decide.  I don't even know what he wants.

What Christmas wishes do you have?

Sorry To Bore You

I decided no more talking about Atkins and stuff like that on this blog.  I started a new blog called 20 to Goal, which I am going to use to motivate myself during this difficult time!

So if you are interested here is the link

20 To Goal

It will be boring, mundane, and just about my daily progress.  But if you are bored, it's something to read LOL!

It's Black Friday...Are You Shopping?

Am I shopping?  No way on earth!  I hate crowds, they give me anxiety!  We usually do most of our Christmas shopping in one day.  We just make a day of it, go to the many different stores, go out to dinner, just Hubz and me.  The kids sleepover at MIL's, that way we can get everything done and wrapped before they come home.  Works for us!

Yesterday was very nice.  Ate at MIL's, and I was so good, just had turkey.  But then I got to my sisters, and oh just one bite of pumpkin pie, oh just one bite of stuffing, oh just one bite of a crescent roll...well forget it.  I wasn't on Atkins yesterday, and I felt like crap after.  I won't do that again!  I hardly slept at all last night, feeling crappy, and guilty, and stupid.  OH well, today is a new day!

It's Holiday Time

I am one lucky lady.  I am off for the next five days for the Thanksgiving holiday!  WOO HOO!  And it will be better that I am not at work, because now is the time people like to bring goodies in.

All of these cakey, chocolatey, yummy goodies that I can't have on Atkins.  So tempting.  So delicious.  So here I am with my sugar free chocolates that will get me through these tough times.  I ordered a great cookbook from a site called Sugar Free Sheila that has all sorts of low carb desserts to make, can't wait for it to come. I also ordered her other cookbook called Low Carb Meals which is fantastic.  Great recipes.  I highly recommend it.

I am a little sad this year because I am not doing the cooking.  Usually on Thanksgiving we go to my MIL's then I cook for my family.  It gets a bit crazy but I love it.  I love the smell of my kitchen as the turkey is cooking.  This year we are going to MIL's then over to my sister's beautiful new house for the holiday.  This is her first time cooking, so she should have a good time.  I am looking forward to helping.  Too bad all I can eat is turkey and maybe some gravy!

If I don't get to blog before the holiday...Happy Happy Thanksgiving!

Laundry

I must admit that laundry is the absolute least favorite of my chores.  And now that it is winter time, there are many more clothes to clean.  Big, bulky clothes.  Double layered clothes.  I miss the laundry that consisted of tee shirts and shorts :(

I keep teasing Hubz about the laundry because I swear it's all his stuff.  Big fleecey pullovers, jeans, etc.  I told him he needs to wear things more than once LOL!

I did 5 loads this weekend.  That is a lot when I am only used to 3.  I need to start doing some laundry during the week now, because from now until Christmas, our weekends are busy.  Busy busy busy.

Oh joy.

The New Job

Hubz started his new job today!!!  I was so excited and nervous that I could hardly sleep last night!!  I can't wait til he calls me at lunch and tells me all about it!!!

Please keep us in your prayers!
