April 2006

Wow, I am a QUEEN, Baby!

Queenrhonda2_1Wow, wow, wow, wow, WOW!  I must say that I am just thrilled to be crowned a queen in Ellen's court!  I am honored, and just LOVE the rendition of me.  Thank you, Ellen, you are amazing.  Go visit her at The Reign Of Ellen.  Her blog was one of the few that inspired me to blog in the first place, so I am a big fan.

Woo Hoo!

The Green Eyed Monster Is Out

Amazing_house
I had a reunion of sorts with my cousins on my Dad's side yesterday..(which is a post to come later in the week).  Anyway, this is the house we went to for the reunion.  My cousin's house.  When we pulled up we were in awe.  How on earth can someone afford a house like this??  I so need to hit the lottery.

I Am Pleased To Introduce My New Renter

Why do I like my new renter Mama, MAMA COME HERE!  Well, come on, just look at the title of her blog.  That in itself is the story of my life most of the time.  She is also a working mother of two- like me, likes Alton Brown-like me, and she is just a down to earth writer.  Just says it as it is.  I like that.

Here are some posts that I just think are great.  The Library PoliceI'm Weary,  and Letter To My Husband And Mother In Law .  Oh I am sure there are so many more.

Check it!

My Week (Cliff Notes Version) 4/28

1)  It has been a long week at work, and the weekend will be even longer.  In a few weeks, I will get a break, and I will be ever so glad.

2) We have been enjoying our 'trash picked' scooter this week.  We have popped the tire though and Hubz needs to fix it.  Check it out HERE.

3)  Wednesday was Administrative Professionals Day.  My co-workers were so sweet and got me a dozen roses, a nice planter for my porch, and kind words in a great card.  I was a happy lady that day!

4)  Ben has just been his usual crazy self this week.  Getting muddy, drawing pictures, typing Spongebob into Google images and getting THIS picture.  Pretty scary I must say, and moderate safe search is on.

5)  MJ has dress down today at school.  She was so excited, but not so happy when she picked an outfit and I said no way.  I told her that her shorts were just too short for school.  We talked about it, and agreed on a cute white polo and flowered capri pants.  It's cool, and she looks so very cute in it!

6)  Today I have to meet with my sis and the maids to have our final fitting for the dresses.  Hope all works out well.  They charged me $60.00 just to have mine hemmed.  Sis says I was ripped and she is going to say something about it.  Fine with me!

7) Hey, go check out my new renter Mama? MAMA COME HERE!  She is way cool.  I will be checking out her blog a little deeper today and I will pimp some of my favorite posts of hers tomorrow!

8)  Last but not least, Hubz has a job interview today.  Around 4pm eastern time, please have a little thought or say a little prayer for him.  He has been trying to get into the Tech field for 2 years (or more) now, and no one seems to want to give a new guy a chance.  Yes, he has a full time job, but it is not his passion, like computers are.  I will keep ya posted on that one.

And that is all I have to say about that.

Cause I'm A Blonde..Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

Blonde

Hey man, I know it's not Self Portrait Thursday...but I just had to share my personal joy and excitement.

I have had darker hair for quite some time now.  Hubz wanted me back blonde, and MJ said, "Mom, please make your hair look like mine again!"  So here we have it.  I am the happiest girl in the world.  This is ME.  Brown hair just isn't me, and hey, I think I look soooo much younger blonde (I didn't say you have to think so..I just think so).  Tee hee!

So HOORAY!  And go over and have some fun with Flickr Toys, and make your own motivational poster!   Or you can make a mosaic, trading card, movie poster , and all sorts of other fun stuff!  That site is way cool and lots of fun!

Cause I'm a blonde...yeah, yeah, yeah..and that is exactly what I sang when I called Hubz at work today to tell him the news.  He loves it (so does MJ)!

Oh, and I really don't agree with the whole blondes have more fun thing...I had fun as a brunette too!

It's Her Party, She Can Cry If She Wants To

I have been worried about MJ lately.  She just cries at the drop of a hat.  I ask her what is wrong and she says she doesn't know.  Waaaay in the back of my mind, I was a little worried that maybe she has a bout of depression and I need to take her to the shrink.  But luckily, I think I got to the bottom of it.

After a long line of questioning (and snuggling), I finally found out what seems to be up.

First, she is nervous about her First Holy Communion.  I asked her what seems to be so scary, and she told me that she is afraid people will be looking at her, and she is worried about holding her hands the right way.  I assured her that people will be looking at her because she looks just beautiful, and that I will buy Necco wafers so we can do a test run.  She has a practice at school tomorrow in the afternoon...maybe that will ease her mind a little.

Along the same lines, she is nervous about being the Flower Girl in my sister's wedding (which, I might add, is the night before the Communion).  The same thing, worried about people looking at her.  I told her that she is lucky, because she gets to walk down the aisle with her Cousin Kevin, and all she needs to think in her mind is, "Yeah, I know I'm cute!"  Also, she is lucky because MOMMY has to walk down that very long aisle alone, and I am scared too.  And that is okay.

So after our little talk, I think we both felt better, and off to play with her friends she went.  Man, am I scared for the teenage years.

I can take a deep breath now.

Self Portrait Tuesday, April Fool #4

Clown_nose
Since I pretty much haven't really been 'April Fooling' it, regarding this month's theme for Self Portrait Tuesday, I figured let's make it crazy on the last one of the month.

Benny got that clown nose at school yesterday.  We haven't had a clown nose around here for ages.  Yes, we have had whoopie cushions, and Flarp, and those sorts of clown things, but not a nose.  Oh, are we going to have fun with this!

Peace Out!

Acidophilus Anyone?

Oh happy Monday to ya.  Anyone ever used chewable acidophilus?  It is supposed to help with your digestive system and boost your immune system.  But it seems to be giving me some icky side effect which includes bloating and making my stomach look 5 months pregnant!

Anyone?  Anyone?

Let's See Your Tattoo!

My_tattoo
My buddy Jen over at Mommy Needs A Martini and I were saying, "Hey, we want to see everyone's tattoos!"  So for some weekend fun, why not post a picture of your tattoo on your blog, tell us a little bit about it, and make a comment and I will link you here so we can all enjoy the artwork!

My tattoo was done in 2 phases.  The middle symbol was done first, and the other two later down the road.  From top to bottom they mean, 'to be willing and able', 'strength and energy', and 'peace and security'.  I think I lost all three of those things in my life after I got those tattoos, and I tell that to everyone!  I also tell them they could mean 'Pork Fried Rice' for all that I know!

Please play along if you want to!  Here are the links to our fun participants:

No Dice at Club Mom

Yes, I am one of the many, many mom bloggers that applied for the paid blogging positions over at Club Mom.  Got the rejection letter the other day, and that is okay.  I am new at this blogging thing and it was well worth a try.  I am a smidge bummed, I must admit.  Maybe there will be another try down the road.

I have always tried to supplement the income with some sort of  'at home' gig.  Avon, Mary Kay, Herbalife, Mia Bella Candles, and those sorts of things.  I have found that I am not a good direct seller.  I stink at it.  So that didn't work.  Then I had this plan that I would take courses to become a Wedding Planner.  Didn't even finish the at-home course, and now know that is not the job for me by any means.

I have been blogging for a few months now and know that I just love it!  I would love to find a paying gig doing this, but I am sure they are few and far between.

I have so much experience regarding so many topics.  I was just thinking maybe, just for fun, to make another blog about Moms taking time for themselves.  Beauty question and answer, and things like that.  Maybe even just a blog with questions and answers about all sorts of woman/mommy related topics.  I don't know.

What kind of blog would you like to see out there?
